The skin has a natural exfoliation process with several important functions, the skin's cells are renewed each and every day. A few different factors, including aging, can cause the cell renewal rate to decrease, resulting in an imbalanced skin. By including an exfoliator in your routine, you can both proactively help the skin to remain balanced and reduce the visible signs of imbalances. Verso has developed products for all skin types and conditions to help maintain a healthy-looking complexion.
The skin has a natural exfoliation process that helps to keep the protective barrier intact and reject unwanted particles. For a well-functioning skin, this process takes around one month. As we get older, the effectiveness of the exfoliation process starts to decrease. It can result in a loss of elasticity, dull skin, and make the skin more likely to get clogged.
Regular exfoliation can help your skin to become smoother and more radiant. It may reduce the appearance of discolorations and fine lines, promoting a healthy-looking glowing complexion.
Proper exfoliation can help to reduce visible dryness and maintain a good moisture level in the skin. Furthermore, it can help the other functional products of your routine to be absorbed by than skin and to deliver results.
With the increased use of exfoliators, we have seen a rise in common misunderstandings and misusage. Today, it’s quite common to over-exfoliate your skin. It can easily happen if you choose a product that’s not suitable for your type of skin, its needs, and its tolerance. An over-exfoliated skin will show signs of sensitivity, dryness, and clogged pores.
Always start slowly when introducing a new and functional product to your skincare routine. Read the “How to use” information carefully. One way of getting closer to your desired result is to ask about the product and its functions.

The enzymes gently exfoliate the skin leaving it feeling smooth without over-drying.
There are, just like with cleansers, different types of exfoliators adapted to different skin types and skin conditions. Verso uses acids (AHA, BHA, and PHA), enzymes (from Mango and Papaya), and tiny gentle beads (Jojoba Esters, Silica, and Cellulose) as the exfoliating agents in our products.
Alpha Hydroxy Acids are derived from fruits. They are hydrophilic (attracted to and soluble in water) and help exfoliate old skin cells resulting in a radiant complexion. Alpha Hydroxy Acids are commonly used in skincare to diminish the look of lines and wrinkles while visibly improving firmness and texture while brightening the skin. AHA’s remarkable water-binding properties are ideal for people with normal to dry skin. Verso uses Glycolic Acid and Lactic Acid. Glycolic Acid has the smallest molecules, making it the most functional ingredient in this peel. Lactic Acid is a mild exfoliant that works to prevent dryness and minimize the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.

Beta Hydroxy Acid is also known as Salicylic Acid and Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, in its natural state. BHA helps accelerate the skin's exfoliation process by removing old skin cells. The process helps reduce the appearance of dull and uneven skin tone and improves the effectiveness of the following skincare products. BHA is oil-soluble, compared to Alpha Hydroxy Acid, which is water-soluble. This means that Beta Hydroxy Acid can more effectively dissolve excess oils and reduce the appearance of oily skin and blemishes. Beta Hydroxy Acid can temporarily soothe the appearance of redness and protect the skin from the visible effects of environmental stressors. Verso uses Salicylic Acid and Salix Alba (Willow) Bark Extract, a natural sourced salicylic acid (BHA) that can calm the appearance of temporary redness and protects the skin from the visible effects of environmental stressors.

Poly Hydroxy Acid functions in the same way as AHA. PHA is different from AHA because it is slightly less irritative due to its larger molecular structure. PHA has soothing, moisturizing, antioxidant benefits and assists with exfoliation. Verso uses Gluconolactone. Gluconolactone is gentle without compromising the results of soft and smooth skin. Can typically be used on sensitive skin.

Gentle yet effective exfoliator derived from fruit. They are usually used in cosmetics to soften skin and smooth hair. Enzymes are known to help the skin remain balanced. Their exfoliating effect can revitalize the skin, leaving it smooth with an even texture. Verso products contain enzymes extracted from mango, papaya, and pomegranate.

Before at-home exfoliating acids and enzymes became widely known, the most common alternative was to use beads to peel the skin. This is a peeling agent with mechanical with tiny beads. They work on the surface of the skin to remove old skin and is often more suitable for a stronger, rougher skin. Avoid harsh massage on the skin and try to be careful with beads if you have very sensitive skin.nnnVerso uses three different forms of beads: Jojoba, Cellulose, and Silica. Jojoba are environmentally friendly tiny melting beads, made of biodegradable natural wax. They have a gentle exfoliating effect on the skin while being less harsh than a traditional scrub. Cellulose is a byproduct from the tree industry: natural and biodegradable. Silica are tiny small beads made of sand, also biodegradable and natural exfoliating agent.
